I've got tons of video from the 2008 season. Unfortunately, my laptop is now full. So I can only put together small segments until I get a new 'puter. I posted it in the NE forum because it's not complete. Maybe short 3 min segments will work better.
My season started in June on the NE Canyons on a friends boat. It started off good with a decent marlin bite and went downhill from there. I can sum it up in one word, it SUCKED. But, that's how it goes.
Fortunately, my boat was in Chatham and the bluefin fishing made up for it. Lots of decent medium BFTs. Plus I had the pleasure of putting 7 or 8 new anglers on their first BFT. Tell you what...it gave me an appreciation what you charter guys deal with. I don't know how you do it, day in and day out!
If you never had the pleasure of running out of Chatham Harbor and thru the Chatham Cut in the dark or fog, let's just say, it's more excitement than hang gliding.
Just to let you know, you can buy an external hard drive for your computer and it'd be a lot cheaper than buying a new one. you can get a 500gb for around $150.
I'd say great video too but the damn internet is SUPER slow here today!
Dude! That is some sick shit right there. Those whales are crazy breaching near you guys...really cool. Being new to this board has really opened up my eyes to the BFT scene you have. I only speak for myself, but I "WAS" one west coaster who thought BFT fishing had become like chasing ghosts.
That is a great segment. Loved it. The whales... the BFT, the areobatic marlin.... loved it all.... but the best part to me was the lady harnessed in to a wild ride. The look on her face was great! She had her butt so low, it said it all. " This *$&#&@* )@**$&( is going to pull me over board!"
Glad you guys liked it. Always fun showing off some of the stuff I learned right here, from you guys. And it sure is nice NOT to make the newspapers
Wrt to my puter, it's a old laptop that really lacks processor power for rendering video. That 3 minute clip takes almost an hour to render. The fact that the disk is full is just another hint that it's time to upgrade. But thanks for the tip.
As for the camera, you wouldn't believe me if I told you. It's a canon SD1100IS I picked up at Walmart for under $200 clams. Not as good as my old Canon Elph (an SD800IS) which finally took a powder while fishing with Buffington in PR. But at 200 bucks, I won't be crying when the saltwater kills it.
As for other vids, some are sprinkled around here. But I have a bunch of video from this year still sitting on my 'puter. You'll just have to wait LOL
JD, come on up. If you need a deckhand... Jumping on a beautiful 40+ Ocean vs. my Pursuit CC is a no brainer. Although, small boat tuna fishing is ALOT of FUN
