Fished with Chip for a week a few summers ago and he put us on some great fish. He has managed a handful of 900's in Kona so this awesome news!

Lots of great Captains in Kona. The guy that deserved this the most is Chip.
Probably the best lure captain out there. Perfectionist!!! If you want to leanr how to fish for blues with a lure, spend a couple days on his boat. Way to go Chip!!!!! DBB |

And it turns out it's the second grander for a 9/0 Hays Hook. Sure got balls, dem little hooks.  More info when the hangover subsides, so Chip tells me.....

Spoke with Chip. Quick fight. Blue jumped a lot at the boat like a black. Had a gaff in her and then the leader broke.
Thought he was going to retire the lure. Said he is going to put it back out as soon as he can. DBB |
