Caveman Sportfishing Fish Report: JIGS ON FIRE!!! with tuna picture on color sounder

Trolled from the southern end of the 19 fathom lump to the SE and then to the SW until we got a tuna hooked up then immediately started jigging with 10 oz hammered diamond jigs from Canyon Runner with 4X extra strong treble hooks or large heavy circle hooks. These jigs also have extra strong swivels which make them overall much better than the standard store bought ones and all our tuna were caught on them today (about 17 except one over 47 inches caught trolling early am. Just plain awesome tuna fishing with 99% coming in at between 45-46 inches so they were released. Nothing smaller and only one over 47 inches. We were never more than 4 miles from Masseys but early am we had it all pretty much to ourselves. It was pretty much over by 9:30 am or 10:00 am when the tuna moved on as fast as they showed up but what a 4 hours we had this morning. Note: We had butterfish and sardines out the whole time we were catching non-stop on jigs and never had a touch on these baits. This is the second trip the tuna ignored these baits. It seems the tuna only want trolled baits and diamond jigs at least on our boat. We also caught a nice dolphin when we were trolling.

This is what the fish finder looked like when the bite was HOT! The bite lasted from approximately 6:30 am until 10 am, almost nonstop action fighting 2-3 fish at a time.

The second picture is of one of our guests fighting one of the 4 or 5 bluefin tuna he caught today using jigs. He has the fish up to the surface and mate Jeff Hudson is standing at the ready with the gaff.

Great pix, I love to see them tuna on the ff. Good pix of the thermal cline too.
Can't wait to get back up and fish the Delmarma coast. We don't have that fishery in Charleston.Live bait works there too but if there hitting metal why catch bait?
