Caveman Sportfishing Bluefin Tuna Report for August 3rd & 4th--the bite stays hot!!
We took Jason deGrandmaison of Modern Gaming East in Atlantic City, NJ and his guests out on August 3rd and the Dennis Hasson charter group out on August 4th on bluefin tuna trips. Included in the Hasson charter were Dennis and his father, Jack Hasson, from Cape May, NJ and his brother, John Hasson, from Delaware. Also along on this charter were Chuck Kortman from Williamstown, NJ and Mike Stapleford from West Chester, PA. The deGrandmaison group had a great day with multiple hook ups on the troll and brought back three to the dock. The Hasson charter group had a nice catch and brought three bluefin caught on the troll back to the dock today. The Hasson charter also hooked up on a fish that took a hard run on 80 class tackle set on full drag that just peeled off the line until it snapped the 175 lb leader. We fished in the same area as we have for the past two weeks and trolled using ballyhoo on Ilanders and also planers. The bluefin have been biting right at day break and then they seem to disappear for a while after sun up when the boat traffic increases and then they have been showing up again after a couple of hours.
Pictured below is the Jason deGrandmaison charter group from Atlantic City with bluefin they caught on August 3rd and the Dennis Hasson Charter group including Dennis Hasson of Cape May, John Hasson from Delaware, Chuck Kortman from Williamstown, NJ and Mike Stapleford from West Chester, PA. Dennis' father Jack Hasson of Cape May also went along on the trip but is not in the picture.
