What does anyone know about Bart Miller? His story seems interesting.

I've known Bart for decades... He's cantankerous, cranky, self important, arrogant, but.... He has shown time and time again that he has game. In recent years his health has been failing, eyes all but gone but sitting and talking with him he will still fire up and get all excited about a new design he's working on. A lover of exotic, he has traveled the world for unique pieces related to the fishing world. Items of exotic woods and bone dot his personal collection of "stuff".
He and I worked together for quite some time. Impossible son of a ***** to please at times the shouting matches still echo in my head. That though is Bart pure and simple. One who demands perfection and passes that to his clients.![]()
Thanks for the insight Paul. However, the first few examples of his personality question whether or not he's really the kind of person that warrents interest. I say this in terms that he probably wouldn't care that someone takes interest in him or his products.
Nothing could be futher from the truth. Stop by Black Bart store on Blue Heron Bldv. in Riviera Beach, Fl any morning and Bart will take all the time you wish to discuss his passion...marlin fishing and answer any questions you have.
Not in the area , pick up the phone and call him...you will find he is exactly the " kind of person that warrants interest. " Good luck.
I was totally impressed by both Bart, Jack and the staff in Bart's store in Riviera Beach. Bart and Jack took me through the entire product lineup and explained everything about each lure and even added fish stories to go with them. Bart is incredibly personable and if you enjoy fish stories he has some of the best. Bart makes a great product and it catches fish. If you want to know more about Bart and how he got his start read the stories in "Living Legends of Big Game Fishing." It has some of Bart's stories as well as fish stories from many other great captains.
Capt Bart Miller (Papa) to his friends, is one of the most personable men you could meet.
Questioning whether he's worth your time or not is actually a bit insulting.
I was completely impressed that Papa thought it was worth his time to get to know me.
I've never met the Bart that Deep talks about but I don't have the relationship Deep had either. Unless I'm mistaken, Deep used to manufacture at least some of his lures for him. With that in mind, Deep's comments are completely positive and in no way take away from the man.
Cheers,

I dont know him, but much like Capt Fred Archer, when he talks .......I listens!!
Cant imagine what Bart has seen in his days on the water. One thing holds true though, his product is undoubtably recognizable the world over. That says alot.![]()
