    CAPE VERDE FUN PLACE?

Were leaving Madeira in a couple of days and working our way to Cape Verde. We will be in the Canary's for about a week or two and then off again for the 800 mile leg. Heard the fishing is starting to pick with the normal Marlin being around 400. Does anyone know if there is anything good to do on land or any places to go, and the most important any HOT chicks?

pretty unreal fishing starting in April..

Not a whole hell of a lot going on fun wise. But there are many islands with kick ass scenery. If you're in Sao Vicente, hook up with Zak Conde on the Amelia or Bonze on the Happy Hooker, I'm sure they'll take you to the "Office" for a beer. Chicks.....not so much, sorry man But get ready to get a shtiload of bites!

Didn't realize you were on the big visiting boat. Have a safe trip down. They were catching a few last week. It's warm enough all year round to be able to have a good chance whenever you go out. Scenery is er.. not really kick ass unless you like the idea of a cross between the moon and the sahara desert, as someone once described it... The best chance of finding hot chicks is probably Sal island. That's not the island with the marina though. Bonze is in NZ at the mo.

Cape Verdians are real nice Folkks. April & May you can well get up of 10 bites a day... Seas can be rough but you guys have the right Rig... If you needed someone to clean your boat I'd be there in a minute!!!

Ile de sal is the only place I have been there and basically its a pile of dirt in the middle of nowhere. Fish yes. Friendly yes but its one of those classic places that if you didn't bring it you won't get it there...

Cape Verde is phenomenal blue marlin fishing, and the season is just kicking off now...though it gets really good come April onward. If you're looking for blues you'll find some huge numbers there.

Billfishreport.com reports on all the catches - follow the Cape Verde season and billfishing from around the globe there. Also get live reports on twitter.com/billfishreport.

Thanks for the update. We just got into Gran Canary. We will be leaving for Cape Verde in about a week and will be there for about a month and a half and follow the fish back up. 900 miles to go and pure Marlin.

Given that it's one of the main transshipment points for Cocaine smuggled from South America (read Venezuela) to Africa and then onto Europe you think there'd be somewhere to go/something to do.

BTW-Once upon a time it really was green, then people arrived and cut down all the trees, that's why it's mostly dirt and bare rocks now.
