Cape May Shark Tournament - the aftermath

Well, here we are, watching the dust settle and doing our best to recover from the Third Annaul Cape May Shark Tournament here at Hinch's. The awards banquet down at Sharky's last night was a wonderful celebration of sportsmanship and competition, a great time to acknowledge the winners and spend some time with friends.

    Official results:

Heaviest Shark, Predator Payout, Daily Thresher winner: Banker Catt

Daily Bluefish Day 1 winner: Lucky Dog

Daily Bluefish Day 2 winner: Gold Rush

Mega Mako winner (drew out of a hat): Julie B.

Pictures and video to follow (look on previous threads as well), but all said and told, a good tournament despite the lack of shark.

    Thumbs up

Hey Kelly, thanks for getting the report up for us today. We're all moving a little slowly around here today.

I'll add to her report by showing the payout for all our winners. We had a total of 20 boats w/a total payout of $24,954 dollars!!!!!

BankerCatt was the big winner bringing home $13008.50!!!! They brought in the only shark of our tournament but it was a very impressive 452 lb Thresher!! Their prize money consisted of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Heaviest Shark Prize money, along w/the Predator Payout and Daily Thresher calcutta money.

Lucky Dog & Gold Rush both took home money for the Daily Bluefish calcuttas. Lucky Dog w/their 9.65lbr from Day 1 and Gold Rush w/their 12.7lbr on Day 2, both boats took home $368.00.

Since their were no qualifying Makos brought to the scales all teams that participated in the Mega Mako and Daily Mako calcuttas anticipated the drawing that would call the winner.

First, Tyler Feast (whose father is David Feast our Elite Landscaping sponsor) drew the Miss Andrea team as the winner of the Daily Mako money totalling $1710.00. Next up, we were assisted by his younger brother Ryan to pick the winner of the MegaMako. Ryan pulled the ticket out and proudly read off the numbers for the Julie B team; their prize . . . a nice $9500.00!!!

Thanks to everyone who participated and for everyone who helped out this weekend.

The whole Sharkey's crew, we couldn't have done it without you!!!! Besides the amazing food that was provided to our participants, they kept my crew fed during their long hours of work.

Below is a group shot of both the Sharky's crew and the Off the Hook Team. I'll post more pics up from the weekend.

If you'd have won, maybe they would have given you a gift certificate for tackle instead of the prize money

A quality Tournament for three years running. I see nothing but the best for this tournament. Great for anglers of all levels. Thanks Chuck, Mary and the Hinche's Crew for the hard work to make a great Tournament. Thanks to the crew at Sharky's for the excellent food. Also a thank you to all the sponsors and all who helped out, including the anglers that keep coming back. I can't wait to do it again next year.

Mary, Can you give me an email I can send pictures to. I am having trouble getting down there. They make me stay in the Twp and drive around aimlessly for hours and hours. I can't seem to convince them to let drive a few more miles south . Anyway enough about me. I have some crew pics for you, nothing spectacular

No problem, as for driving aimlessly, at least it keeps you from doing "shocking" things.

    Send your pics to hinch@dandy.net.
