Thumbs up Cape May Marlin and Tuna Club - Shockley Off-Shore 09

Saturday July 4, member boats will be chasing billfish and tuna in the Shockley Offshore 09'. The circle hook rules are in full effect so "J" hooks are for plastic only lures. This should be a great tournament and we've got some serious off-shore competitors ready to run. At last check the first white out of Cape May is still open and the first Blue Marlin angler is as well. Be certain to note exact times on your catch reports.

The Captain's meeting is tonight.

Let's get it on!

Exclamation Tournament Moved to July 11

Our tournament director was eyeing up the forecast and, after some reports from the field, elected to postpone the Shockley Off-Shore tournament to July 11. Looking at the flags the next morning several of us were happy with the decision.

Member Boats fishing the Ocean Viking this week as well as those who are not, are welcome to participate. Sign up between 6pm and 8pm at the club Friday July 10.

We ended up staying in on Saturday. Saturday night looked awesome but by then we'd already committed to the beach bar.

I saw Kushner made the run Sat with tuna flags up on the way home, talked to a center console that turned around 15 out Sat morning. A good day on Saturday may have depended on how much boat you had and what direction you were running. I will say there were a lot of boats that weren't up for the potential beating.

I'm looking forward to day 1 of the Ocean Viking Thursday. We'll probably do both tournaments on Saturday from the Lady Jayne - Go Team Ocean.

I believe that Viking is a club boat so hopefully we see them in the club tourney as well. Low stakes but some good competition and tournament points for the season. Plus boats need to fish at least one club tournament to participate in the Challenge Cup this year.

Just spoke to Supercrew and they'll be in.

Received this from Eldee today:

Captains Meeting Friday July 10 at 7pm. Fish Saturday 8:30 - 3 pm to align with the Viking Ocean. You may fish hours outside of this however fish only count for the tournament during these hours.
