    Cape May Info

I've lurked here a while, but haven't really joined in too much - - more frequently use the TF board...

Anyway - I'm going to Cape May next week for a family vacation, and am debating bringing the boat down (A Mako 22 cc) and trying to get offshore one day - - the temp break has me itching to get out there and start the season.

Does anyone know if there is a public ramp in Cape May? Also, since we'll be staying in town w/o boat parking, is there a place I can store the boat when not in use? Can I just park it on the street on the outskirts of town? And... finally, are there any marinas/options for a reasonable weekly slip rental - boat is only 22', and I wouldn't need power/water, etc.

Any info is appreciated. We've been there twice before, but I have never brought the boat down. I live in Annapolis, and usually fish out of OC or Chinco...

    Call Utsch's

Utsch's marina is very near the ramp- just around the corner. I'll bet you could get a transient slip there and park the trailer. Ask for Ernie, And I believe that they wikll be very helpful

I'd like to add that when I checked for a transient slip at Utsches , I talked to Dawn and she couldn't have been any nicer to talk to and had a transient slip. When I talked to her, she said the price was 2.00 per foot per day. I'm not sure if it changes at anytime, but that also included shore power and cable tv.

They also had space to park the boat trailer too, Supposedly they also had newly renovated facilities(showers, etc.)

    Hope this helps!!

    Mako22,

We do handle transient slips, but since our Shark Tournament is this week we will be unable to accomodate your boat and trailer. I would definitely suggest to give Utsch's a call @ 609-884-2051 and ask for Dawn. The free ramp is located close to Utsch's so that might make that a bit more convenient for you.

Feel free to call or stop by when you're in town and we'll be glad to help you w/areas to fish and places to eat @ in town.

Enjoy your stay in Cape May and stop by and check out the weigh-ins this weekend.

Wow - what a great resource. Thanks for all the help.

Mary - we are coming down the week of 6/24-6/30, is that when the tournament is? I thought I remember it being this weekend (21st-24th?). If it doesn't conflict, would you have room to park just the boat/trailer?

(I have never been to the marina before, and really don't know the layout, etc.)
