Finally felt good to get out on the water.
A couple weeks ago my dad told me we were heading out on the 29th rain or shine, as one of the guys who always comes into his store wants us to show him some "good" spots for catching stripers. I say what any person would say, "whos taking us and lets go!" Well we pack up sunday and head for the canal at noon. Make the quick pit stop at Redtop to drop of some reells that need to get serviced and then to Mako's to say hi to Dick and launch.
Everthing goes well the 2-stroke didnt like the cold water (47-49 F) and took some time to warm up. We head out see a couple clammers and a few boats out but the place was like a graveyard ohh well no biggie we are here to check out some old spots and teach the other two guys some tricks. Well I gotta say there is a good about of bait around and saw some bigger marks on the sonar but with the frigid water nothing will eat. But by the looks of things the place it waiting to explode.
Came back in 5 hrs later to go wash the boat and grab some eats. The boat was washed and headed to Bailey's for some baked haddock and clam chower. We ate up and chatted and shared some stories. When all was said and done we packed up and headed home. Damn gotta say it felt great to be on the water.
Got to try out the new camera too.![]()
