    CanyonGear Lures..Sneek Peek

Its with great pleasure, alot of hardwork, collaboration and the skills of many fine USA craftsman that made this possible.

I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

The website should be up in about 2-3 weeks for online shopping. Our goal was to bring lures to the market that are semi-customizable. By that, you will have the option of abalone (paua) shell color, or a less expensive version with holographic scale tape instead of shell, head shape, skirt color, and rigged or unrigged. There will be 3 sizes per lure head. The following pictures are selective as well as the colors of the heads and skirts for photography purposes only, and in no way limits the possibilities of our molds.

The product is made in the U.S.A, and the skirts are produced by Ocean Lure Concepts our skirt supplier..

We have other items ready to go~Lure Bags, Spreader Bars, Stiff hook Rigs, etc.

The website will be geared toward "Specie Specific" products..unlike most online tackle shops..you will be able to shop by species! The fish we will support will be as follows:

    Marlin
    Tuna
    Wahoo
    Dolphin
    SailFish

that's it for now..here's the pics!

Hopefully, thru the pictures you can see the attention to the detail, the head shapes, the eye pupil design which absolutley is realistic to the ballyhoo! Alot of thought and long hours went into the design of the heads, details and colors.

We are very proud to bring to you the next generation of lures...

Thanks to SF.com and Jer for allowing the post and the Sneek Peek to the products!

    Thanks Joe!..

A bit about the lures and the construction..each lure has 3 mold sizes, what you see in the pics is one size we felt would be welcomed in the market.

The resin used is the same resin used in jet fighter canopies and lenses in satellite and recon aircraft..

The paua shell is straight up from Hawaii..resin impregnated and a tacky back for stability during the molding process and aging.

The holographic tape lures are straight up from WTP tapes and the purple tint our own shade.

The head chafe tube is polyethylene heavy duty uv resistant.

The colors available in abalone shell are: crystal blue, natural green, purple.

The shell and tape lures are unique in that we cover all surfaces except the rear of the weighted insert. The belly on all CanyonGear abalone insert lures is white abalone the other 4 sides: front, left , right and top are matching abalone.
The belly is white as it matches most all baitfish bellies.

The eye (pupil) took over 3 months of cad design due to the distortion each lure headshape makes, so in fact, each pupil is actually diffrent by lure head to give the effect that they all look exactly alike.

At this point we have 18 heads in 3 sizes.

Two "Hawaiian Plunger" head in one size each which will be know as the "Hawaiian Plunger" these are not pictured as the prototype and first mold are just being finished in purple abalone.

All of the lures are a series known as "Machines"

    They are specie specific:

    Marlin Machines
    Tuna Machines
    Wahoo Machines
    Albie Machines
Canyon Machines - our basic lure for small species and our spreader bars.
