Press Release
World’s First Customizable On-Line Big Game Fishing Tackle Store Launched from CanyonGear tm.
Custom building Big Game Fishing tackle with custom shopping cart technology for Big Game Fishing products gives customers new options for building tackle on-line.
Jupiter, Florida July 14, 2009 CanyonGear has launched, along with its Custom line of Big Game Fishing Tackle, a custom website www.canyongear.com and store. The website features custom quality Big Game Fishing products and the world’s first shopping cart that allows customers to customize products on-line. Customizable products include: Lures, Rods, Gaffs, Terminal Tackle and Rigging.
The custom programmed shopping cart allows Big Game Fishing enthusiasts to “Custom Create” their particular piece of tackle by as many as 15 attributes and over 100 sub-options in some cases. “Our customers can create for instance, a particular lure from scratch by choosing a head shape, head size, head insert color with abalone or holographic inlays, inner and outer skirt colors, leader material type, leader length, hook size, hook set type and rig it. We have supplied tournament boats and customers around the globe with custom tackle, this web store technology now gives them the ability to custom create products, from their computer”, said Tim Woodstock, owner of the company. The customizable product line-up also includes; Stand-up and Trolling Rods, Gaffs, Spreader Bars, Daisy Chains and Teasers.
Negotiations are underway with several private tackle builders to use this new website/store technology to market their products under the CanyonGear brand.
About CanyonGear: CanyonGear was founded in 2007 to provide the big game fishing world with custom and customizable products either produced by us, for us, or assembled by us. We offer custom lures, rods, tackle, rigging, tackle bags, gaffs, spreader bars, daisy chains and terminal tackle covering the world’s game fish and fishing. Tournament quality customizable tackle.
Site looks great Tim. The Spreader Bars and the Albie Machines work great, and are all top notch quality, and most importantly they catch fish. And it did not take long to find that out with a citation Wahoo the first day using them!
The Gaff photos will be up by Mon or Tues..as well the Rods and some lure photos..that are missing..that's the plan as it looks right now..things change tho..
If things go well..We will be making an announcement on a new lure to put in the line-up (re-worked insert - same shape -l from the owner of the rights) that we have been asked to bring back into production..more to follow when I get the prototype in my hand..
Very very slick and professional... Todays lure game demands being on top with the cutting edge. When I was slinging plastic it was not as much as today about the fine details but that was then. I'm impressed. I see a lot of guys ... a ton of em.. want to get in this very difficult game. I keep my opinions to myself for the most part as to predicting success or failure. Its refreshing to see somebody grasping the reigns and rushing head long into it the right way.
I see total devotion which from first hand experience is the single most important thing in making it work. No hobby, no unfounded expectations, no lofty bullshit dreams. A sound devoted approach with a top shelf product...
I'm sure you'll continue moving forward with some really cool stuff...
Well Deepy I will take the kudos..thanks, nice job on the tourney..the bigger fish will cycle up again.
It was a ton of work to create the vision I had..I think it worked..not the prettiest site with video and tons of pics..BUT..you can custom build a number of products which you could never do before..that was the goal..I think we got there..for now.
The next version of the shopping cart is allready in talks and moving to development..We will stay ahead of the curve. I have a tremendous Web development team who listened, acted and worked with the vision every step of the way...actually giving more than they got to make this work.
We received a nice order last night from a tourney boat for an entire set of Marlin lures..they designed on the site..from mediums to larges..head colors..skirt combos..leader lengths..some with fluoro..some without..leader # test..and hooksets.
4 of the lures they did up in the orange/hint of black abalone clear head with the petrolero skirt colors...brown/silver over flo-orange..pretty amazing.
The website looks great, the product quality looks and the photos are professional and will help you convert the Tackle Ho's visits to canyongear.com into sales
