Canyon Runner Sailfish Report - South Beach Pictures & NY SEMINAR NFO

Capt. Mark DeCabia and Capt. Pete Doran had the Mike Tucci party out for a day of sailfishing on Thursday down in Miami on our 60' Ritchie Howell. The morning started out well while catching bait inside goverment cut was easy and consisted of mostly threadfins. Many heads turned as we were catching bait and a few top skipper of miami stopped and complemented us on our new boat. We ran down south to Fowey Light and immediately got bit by bonitos but conditions still looked good so we stuck it out. After a few king bite offs, Mike saw the starboard short rigger get nervous and he dropped back perfectly and we were hooked up and after a brief fight we had our first release. As the day went on we had a few more bite offs but nothing else materialized and we ended the day with 1 as did most of the fleet.

Capt. Mark DeCabia and Capt Pete Doran had the Mike Midget group out with us for a few days of fishing and relaxing in South Beach on our 60' Ritchie Howell. Due to the strong North wind we were unable to go swordfishing on Thursday night so the guys did a little fishing on their own in the local bars. We got up early friday and made bait rather quickly and we were off again where we left off. With a 20 knot North wind and south current, which is optimal for sailfishing we had the kites up by 8am and had our first release by 8:25. We reset and reset and reset and could not buy a bite by any creature of the ocean. At 2 o'clock the wind picked back up and we had our second release of the day. Shortly thereafter we had a few king bite off and landed a snake. We headed back early to make more bait for the morning and did that in short order. Once again it was a slow day for the entire fleet.

Not as good as when I come to PV or Panama with you and you "crew" for the UjEMA Jam! I'm in! Let's talk when you have a chance.

    Here are some fishy pictures:
