Canyon Runner Reports - July 4 Vets Trip Info - Free Canyon Trip for 12 Veterans - Come Say Thanks

    Canyon Runner 60 & 48 – 6/25-26 – 23 Yellowfin/Mako/White

Taking a day off due to weather the boys were back at it Saturday to Sunday and went right back to the Lindenchol/Carteret area and found the life like we never saw it before. Although we didn’t catch as well as we should have. The 60 Ritichie with the Pat Cuzzo charter pick 2 nice yellowfin on Saturday with a few through backs mixed in and missed two white marlin. At night they nailed a nice mako and up on the troll in the morning they quickly went 3 for 3 and 2 for 4 and finished up with 10 yellowifn but only 5 nice ones.

The 48 Viking stopped inshore first on it’s way out with the Tim Gross charter and released a small mako and some blue sharks before heading down to the Lindy. They got up on the troll at 4pm and by 9pm had 3 nice yellowfin in the boat and a few throwbacks. They drifted the deep at night to no avail. ON the morning troll they had a nice pick of fish with singles and double until the motherload of all 11 rods going down and boating 8 nice ones happened just before lines up. They finished off with 13 nice yellowfin in the boat.

    Canyon Runner 60 – 6/26-27 – 222# Big-Eye/7 Yellowfin/Mako/1 for 2 Whites

Turning right around on the 60 Ritchie the boys went back out to the Lindencole with the John Kripple charter and found the yellowfin even less cooperative but quickly had some whites up going 1 for 2. At 7pm trolling in 900 feet of water 3 big-eye exploded on the pattern but only one came tight. 45 minutes later they darted a 222 pounder. They picked another couple yellowfin before night fall. At night they nailed another mako (our 30th of the year so far) and missed a second. Upon the troll in the morning a few more yellowfin were taken with a total of 7 yellowfin for the trip.

For anyone interested – as long as the weather holds we are going to be taking 12 US Military Vets out fishing for free Sunday, July 3 to Monday, July 4. I encourage anyone interested to come down to Clark’s landing marina either day to wish them luck or greet them on their return and thank them for serving our great Nation. Considering we nailed Bin Laden and it’s the 10 Year Anniversary of 9/11 I decided to use both our boats this year on what has become our annual July 4 Thank You to the true American Heros. Shoot me an email at adam@canyonrunner.com if you want to know the times of departure or return.
