    Canyon Runner Report 12/21 - 95" & 94" Giants In the Boat

Another day offshore Morehead City, this time in rough conditions with 20-25 knot NE winds and 5-8 foot seas by the time they were done, turns out pretty much the same as the last day with a couple more nice bluefin in the boat.

The first fish came around 11am and took 30 minutes and was 94". The seas were only 4-5 foot at that point. The second fish was hooked at 2:15pm and was not darted until 4:15 pm - 2 hours later. The seas had built to 8 feet at that point and were making the battle slightly more difficult. That coupled with the fact that this one was 95" and fat - maybe over 500 pounds but we won't know until they get back to the dock.

Based on the forecast they are not fishing tomorrow so we will have plenty of time for more details and a ton of pictures once Mark can get them up to me.

ICCAT is gonna have to divide the Atlantic Bluefin quota into 2 sections. 1 for Captain Mark and 1 for everyone else.

That brings their total up to 13 doesn't it. Man they really got it going on. Was plenty wet and sporty out there today, separates the men from the boys. Keep on slinging the sushi on the dock boys.

That would be wise! Thanks for the funny Andy.
Impressive captain Mark, very impressive. Starting to make us Carolina boys look bad! Congratulations, once again.

    Thanks Guys!!!

SeaBiscuit - I know you are just kidding but no way I can let that pass and agree with you on making anyone look bad - Carolina Boys are the best in the business!!!! Why else would we be building a Ritchie Howell Custom Carolina - those guys from the Outer Banks South have are undying respect. We are just grateful you are letting us share in the fun. I know when you guys come up north and white marlin fish you always clean us Yankee's clocks and I hope you appreciate us letting you do share in that fun.

In the end, while there are plenty of good boat builders to the north and in fact in our own back yard the boys in the Carolinas really have it goin 'on both offshore and in the yard and when we decided to go bigger there was only one choice.
