Canyon Runner 48 – 7/1-2 – 2 Whites/12 Yellowfin/2 Makos to 275

Doing a turn around Friday to Saturday Capt. Mark DeBlasio wanted to stay away from the crowds so left the Hudson to weekend warriors and worked in between the busy canyons (Hudson and Lindy) to get off by himself. This proved beneficial with a white marlin quickly coming to the boat and a couple yellowfin. They set up for what was a great night with several blue sharks, dusky and 2 makos. The first mako was 130 pounds and killed. The second mako was the biggest of the year and after a great fight was alongside the boat. It measured out to 275 pounds and was released as we already had our one for the night. Up on the troll in the morning they picked away nicely all day and finished up with 12 nice yellowfin.

Canyon Runner 60 – 7/2-3 – 3 Whites/8 Yellowfin

Capt. Phil Dulaine, Capt. Kobey Treadwell and mate Will Howell had the Bob O’Connell charter out Saturday to Sunday and ran back down to the Carteret Canyon only to find it lacking life. They trolled to the Lindenchol and picked a yellowfin before night fall. The night bite was non-existent (a rare occurrence for us thus far not catching a mako) but they made up for it on the troll. Working the Lindencole all morning they picked away at yellowfin and white marlin going 3 for 6 on the billfish and catching 8 yellowfin.

We have 2 spots left open on Sunday, July 10 to 11 on the 48 Viking. Cost is $725/person. Please email me at adam@canyonrunner.com or call me at 732-272-4445 if interested.

Just to be clear the 25 whites are between the two Canyon Runner Boats but that was by July 3 so it's a pretty good start to the year.
