Canyon Runner July 11 - Second Blue Marlin of the Week + 9 Yellowfin

Capt. Mark DeBlasio took the Todd Kingsbury charter out to the Toms Canyon Sunday to Monday and enjoyed our second blue marlin in just 4 days. Trolling the afternoon bite Capt. Mark with Capt. Deanne Lambros and Ryan DiBagio in the cockpit picked away at 3 yellowfin on the west side with the tuna coming in a single and double bite and missing a few others. The water looked good so out went two big lures for a marlin or a big-eye – and one was found.

Eating a 14 inch purple jet a 105 inch blue marlin put on a show for the group before being brought boat side for pictures, measurements and release. She swam away fine. The night bite saw a tiger shark and not much else.

The morning troll saw another single yellowfin and a quad so the group ended up with 9 nice yellowfin a 400 pound blue marlin.

This one was pretty easy to call as we weighed a 104 inch blue in last year's Mid-Atlantic $500 so we know it had to be right around the same weight. When you get the right measurement it's hard not to get within 25 pounds of the right weight.
