Capt. Mark DeBlasio had the Frank Ruddy charter out Wednesday to Thursday on a regular overnighter as we new Thursday was going to be a blowout in the afternoon so we left early on Wednesday and got on the Bluefin grounds at first light. 2 hours there produced 8 big Bluefin keeping our over and under and reelasing the rest. The charter was hooked up the entire 2 hours we were fishing.
We then ran off to the Hudson and trolled from the tip all the way out to the mouth and produced 1 nice yellowfin tuna. Setting up in the deep we didn’t expect much – we were wrong. The night produced a stead flow of action with a 45" sword (released), mako (120 lbs) and most importantly 5 for 7 YFT (50-75 lbs). In the morning on a quick troll before the blow started we had 4 mahi.
Below is a picture of Teresa fighting a 150 pound big-eye tuna on Monday while we had 4 of these beast on. I've always said women and children are the best anglers we see on our charters and Teresa proved it once again.
She was the only angler to stay on her fish from start to finish - all the guys passed off their rods!!! Maybe next year John!!
