Capt. Phil Dulanie, Capt. Hook and Capt. Mark Jankowski took the 60’ Ritchie Howell out on an extended day trip on Monday with the Ken Bianco charter and made the right move by avoiding the night chunking. They arrived on the Bluefin grounds at first light and had constant action on the troll. Most of the bites came on the way back ballyhoo and they brought 9 bluefin to the boat keeping their over and under and tagging and releasing the rest. Most of the bluefins were between 50 and 100 pounds.
By 9am they were done and ran another 25 miles out to the Hudson Canyon where they found some great life but not the quantity of fish inshore. That said, 4-5 hours on the troll produced 3 nice yellowfin for the group and a happy charter all around. They were back at the dock at 8pm. Most of the yellowfins are in the 70 pound class.
