I woke this morning and walked into a cockpit full of snow... Water at the marina is off and its 25 degrees and blowing 15 knots .. I thought to myself "what the hell am I doing going tuna fishing". I broke the inlet with no other boats in front and thought maybe I missed something with the forecast ... after checking the weather , we continued on and set out in 58.7 degree water off the knuckle. Working offshore the water gradually warmed and we started marking bait. Around 7:15 our deep rod went off and we went to work and 20 minutes later our 8th giant of the MHC season was on deck. We set out again with just two rods as the guys started cleaning up. I started back to the spot we had gotten the bite and as soon as we reached the waypoint the deep rod once again starting singing that song we love to hear. 25 minutes later, #9 was on deck and we were on our way home with our limit ... Congrats to the Lady Maureen, American Ambition, Sea Wolf, Bedrock and Runoff on their fish today as well .. maybe we will see a strong finish to this year ... here are a few pics
