Canyon Runner 60 – August 2-3 – 500# Blue Marlin & 12 Nice Yellowfin
Capt. Phil Dulanie, Kobey Treadwell and Jay Richardella took the Chris Durnam charter out Tuesday to Wednesday to the Hudson Canyon area and got into some great trolling action. In only a few hours of actual trolling time in the area they nailed 11 nice yellowfin on the troll and would have had plenty more if they were hooked up to a 500 pound blue marlin for an hour. It ate a ballyhoo on a Joe Shute skirt and the Penn 50 VSW and Penn International Stand-Up Rod did a great job on the fish. The night bite was slow with the guys going 1 for 4 on the chunk.
Canyon Runner 48 – August 3-4 – 15 Nice Yellowfin (5 on Chunk)
Capts. Mark DeBlasio and Dean Lambros had the Frank Parillo charter with Todd Palumbo making an appearance and got right into a hot troll bite fishing the Hudson Canyon. In only 3 hours of trolling they put 10 nice 45-65 pound yellowfin in the boat. Canyon Runner Squid Spreader Bars and ballyhoo were the ticket. They set up right on the bite and had great readings but no fish for a few hours. At about midnight the fish came through and they went 5 for 7 and chaffed off a sword. With the northeast winds starting to blow they came in at first light.
