Canyon Runner 2009 Open Boat Canyon Overnighters - Dates Set

I’ve recently found out that not a lot of folks know that we at Canyon Runner have been running open boat canyon tuna/marlin/sword overnighters for the past 3 years and they are very popular. I suspect that this year, more than ever, these trips will be extremely popular as groups of 5 or 6 guys are finding is hard to get everyone together during these tough economic times as some of the folks from their groups are dropping out. As such, I wanted to put up this post to make sure you all are informed about these trips before they are completely booked up.

Our open boat trips are run exactly like our overnighters. They are 24 hour trips leaving the dock between 9am and 3pm and returning 24 hours later. You will get 16-18 hours of actual fishing time depending on how far we have to run (up to 120 miles).

We will put together a group of six people to fill up the 6 spots available on each trip and you can come by yourself or bring as many friends as possible and we will fill out the rest. The catch is split up equal after the trip is over – it is not like a party boat where is person has to fend for themselves.

Everyone will work together, take equal turns on the rods and split up the catch equally at the end of the trip. This format has been a great success and everyone seems to love it. In fact, a lot of these open boat make up trips have since banded together and now book their own date to get their choice of when they want to go.

The boat trips, however, are in fact scheduled in advance. Right now we are currently booking:

August 10-11 (Monday -Tuesday) – 2 spots still available,

    August 25-26 (Tuesday-Wednesday) - 2 spots still available

    September 1-2 (Tuesday-Wednesday) - 3 spots still available.

    September 8-9 (Tuesday-Wednesday) - 3 spots still available.

    September 15-16 (Tuesday-Wednesday) - 4 spots still available.

    September 22-23 (Tuesday-Wednesday) - 2 spots still available.

These trips will all run on the 48’ Canyon Runner. The cost is $750 for everything and that INCLUDES the tip!

PLEASE NOTE – WE ARE ALSO DOING TWO EARLY SEASON OPEN BOAT TRIP THAT WILL BE 30+ HOURS AND INCORPORATE TUNA TROLLING, TILES, SWORDS, MAHI AND MAKOS!!!

    THEY WILL BE ON:

    JUNE 14-15 (SUNDAY-MONDAY) - 1 SPOT LEFT!!!

    JULY 13-14 (MONDAY-TUESDAY) - 4 SPOT LEFT!!!

Looking forward to our annual trip on the Canyon Runner. Lots of great stories last year when the wive's called everyone including the Army.

Adam, you know I am the fisherman of the group. I am interested in the open boat trips.Call me on my cell

Let me know the open trips with one caveat; Make damn sure sportfishingusa is not on the same trip.

You know there are no buffoons allowed.

    Adam,
I am running the 32 Topaz "For Makos" this year out of Forked River. Also running a 24 HS Vector out of Shark River."Scoundrel"
My main goal is to kick Phil's ass with bass.
