Ok first - I'll get a much better report when they return but they hooked up with three large bluefin on the troll at once at around 11am and 2 hours later boated a 90" bluefin (our trophy fish for the year) and released an 86" fish to the Tag-a-Giant Team. Not sure what happened to the last fish but we'll get a better report and hopefully more pictures when they are back at the dock. We were fishing about 40 miles out of Oregon Inlet.

They were trolling and not jigging as they had yet to come across any big pile of fish until approaching this school.

The bite was on the slow side today for sure , but we did see fish early in the cold water and had marks on the machine but did not get bit .. we worked offshore to the warmer water and were fishing by ourselves away from the fleet ... finally around 9am we saw some fish busting on the surface, again not getting a bite ... around 10am we saw a bust behind the boat, circled around and finally got bit, with the short flat getting bit first, then two riggers ... we got stretched out pretty quickly with these large fish on 50 wides and burned one fish off. The first fish came to boat after 2 hrs and was landed as our trophy for the year .. the other fish had over 500 yards of line out and after getting the first one in the boat, we were able to get the second fish pretty quickly. We were fortunate to be able to hand that fish off to the Tag A Giant boat. We did call in some other boats, with the first one on the scene getting bit and releasing a similar class fish .. otherwise, not much on the bluefins today .. here are a few pics
