Canyon Runner 180 Tuna in 3 days & Grander Blue Marlin

Short and to the point - 180 yellowfin and bluefin (equal mix) on our two boats on Saturday to Sunday and Sunday to Monday. Almost all of them chunking during the day and night. All the yellowfin at 50 to 110 pounds. Most are 70-90 pounds. Bluefins are 50 pounders.

Pictures are more details to follow once the weather gets bad and we are at the dock for a day or so. Still catching this morning but only about 20 fish on each boat and almost all bluefins since last night. Capt. Mark just had a 50 pound bluefin eaten 20 feet from the boat by a grander blue marlin as well.

    In summary - Good fishing!

Last Two Dates on 60' Ritchie until after Labor - August 1-2 & 17-18

Open Boat trips on 48' with Capt. Mark and full dates still available -August 10-13.

    Grander, really?

If you don't weigh it, don't say it

Don't stain a great report with such a claim. Good job on the tuna fishing.

Dont think your captains ever caught a grander so how would he know. Lets see the pics of all these 100 lb yellows.

Not going to hijack the thread.
Nice going on your tuna fishing.

On the grander mark, if you don't weigh it, don't say it. It's not a grander unless the scale says its a grander.

No more comments on this. If you want to discuss it, start a thread, I"ll chime in my 2 cents. This is a thread about a good day of tuna fishing, a BIG blue marlin eating a tuna behind the boat. Not something you get to experience everyday

Seriously reel fool I dont know the Canyon Runner guys at all. I know they catch alot of fish and good for them. But my question is why are you allowed to say that your best catch is a black marlin that weighed 950+ but you didnt weigh it. He said he saw a grander blue marlin, he didnt even catch it, and your gonna jump all over him because he didnt weigh it. To me thats only 50 pounds

He is claiming the tuna was eaten by a Grander, not that he caught one.

Captian Mark has caught and seen enough big fish....I ll take his word for it.

Canyon Runner is one of the few professional operations that are still putting up regular, quality, honest reports with photos to back them up...let's not drive them away too..

Good to see you back on here a bit, how about a report from that last day of fishing the billfish blast? Congratulations.

Steve Richardson got wolfpacked by little blue ones last sunday, hooked 5, caught 3 out of Va Beach. Pretty cool!
