Canyon Runner crew - Please don't let some of the other comments faze you. We need to hear about the marlin attack, where it was and what happened - did you get the tuna back? Was it in the day or at night? Did you get to pull on the marlin for a while or was it over in seconds?
That's some great tuna fishing and if your capt's say grander, I'm good with it. I understand that a big girl feasted on their catch. I would also like to hear more details and see the pics. Thanks for the report.
Pay no attention to the fools.
Foolish place to be the "Grander" police....
but thank God you kept the mate in check.
Most of us could care less if you lassoed a black from the back of a blue one with one hand, doesn't add **** to your credibility judging fish size of a fish you didn't even see. Saying a grander ate a tuna and had her way with you is not claiming you caught one.
You calling out the mate is not "reel cool".
By the way....If you truly saw a fish that you believed was tu-tu....are you gonna call it a 950 also? Guess Bart is full of **** to.

Catch one, estimate it, then weigh it. Then talk to me. You are unqualified to an opinion until you have done so....with any species. If all you ever do is let them go, how the hell can you know what they actually weigh? But that's not the point here anyways....but you think it is.
When you can call a fish a grander, free swimming!!!, then the incredible feat of actually catching a KNOWN grander is lost...
Read what Roddy wrote in his post under Franky's thread. He fished the great spots, lots of days. EVEN in the places where you find granders, they are rare. And calling it one is not taken lightly.

WEll since you never weighed a grander you too have a unqualified opinion so your two cents is worthless
Oh great, the grander police with no experience hanging granders. Hyprocrite much?
Yes, I've hung a couple grander BFT's on my boat. So ye of no experience should just STFU.
No worries guys ... I got a very clear look at it when it ate the 50lb bluefin (no i didnt weigh it, I was estimating the weight) right at the transom. It was on 60lb leader so it did not last very long. I know what I saw and how big it was and thats all that matters to me ... the doubters can doubt and thats fine .. the only way to put a real weight on any fish is to kill it and weigh it .. my estimates on fish we kill tend to be very consevative and usually very close to actual weight , but blues are a different animal . So I will re-word my reports from now on until I have the opportunity to stick a big one that has 4 digits in its weight ... either way it was epic fishing (am I allowed to say epic ?) the yellowfin were 56-57" curved fork length, although not weighed, right around the 100lb mark.
