Canyon Runner 10/4-5 Report - 8 Longfin/Yellowfin/3 for 5 on Swords

Capt. Mark DeCabia took the 48' Viking to the Hudson Canyon on Saturday with the Mike Wiley charter and found the place desolate. A call from the 60' Canyon Runner had them run down to the Toms and they got in on some great longfin trolling going 1 for 2, 2 for 3, 3 for 3 and 2 for 2 before sunset. At night they pulled a 65# yellowfin and 3 rat swords kept the charter busy but none of them were big enough to put in the box. With 9 nice tuna in the boat thought (the longfin were 40-60#) the charter was happy to head home early as soon as the sun came up.

Sounds like it's just not going to happen this year with the YFT. Still a few fish for the grill and freezer. Ken

we fished right in the same spot as canyon runner an came home with 4 long fin what a day and just to see those canyon runner boats man they are sweet fishing machines we were on a 28 henriques boat name was blue max we stayed over night no swords but we did manage to play with some huge blu sharks what a trip

Meat in the box, charter happy, sounds like another fine Canyon Runner trip to me. Good job capt. and crew.
