Took awhile to decide between going south or going far north east, but with advice from pitch bait Bobby and some others. We decided to head to the the deep of the lindy 1300 fathoms to be exact. It was a very far trip so we left the dock at 12:45 am, hitting the good water at around 4:45 15 minutes after lines were all in a fish slams a squidnation daisy chain on the teaser reel. Next the short rigger pops comes tight but doesn't stick then the long rigger pops this time the fish sticks and is fought to the boat, but before I could see what it was the hook pulled as I went to grab the leader. It didn't act like a yellowfin and the leader was very chaffed for a foot. We had no action again until about 11:15 with only 2 other boats from our marina fishing near us, one reports that they landed one yellow fin, well about 10 minutes after that all hell break loose. The sniper rod goes off followed by all 5 of the other rods being fished, the seas were rough and with only 3 men (2 of which were a little rusty) in the pit it was pure chaos. We tried our best and managed to screw up on two fish boat side at the leader, lost another 2 because no one could reel 2 at once fourtanately we landed the sniper rod fish and another. The sniper rod fish being the biggest. Decided to pack it in after that with seas getting real big and a 100+ mile trip ahead. All in all a good action packed first trip to the deep.
