    Canyon report 6/14

Left the dock for a first trip of the seasons at 2:30 am, made our way out in heavy fog, arrived at the Wilmington 6:00 am. As soon as we arrived we saw acres of porpoises and lots of birds, however the water was cold at 65-66 degrees. We trolled all around the canyon until 11:00am and decided to pack it in and head to the north to the lindy in search of warmer water. We found good water and temps of 68-69. As I was putting lines out we hooked up with a football yellow fin, after that it was a steady pick of small yellowfin going 9 for 10, boating a 40lb and another keeper, we packed it in at 2:30pm with winds picking up.

It was nice to get out there and see some action, I just wish we saw more bigger fish.
