    World Cat 27TE

Run in stuff most big boats would turn around in....cruise at 35 knots and get around 2.2 mpg fully loaded with 4 men ice bait and full fuel....thats roughly 70 gallons on an all day troll to the washington....when it blows up you never have to worry about getting home. oh yeah....for bass in the winter chop we can run full boar and never get wet....even with no enclosure, and fishability is incredible....Clean up is quick and easy....maintenance is cake....and the best part....finding a descent used boat around 55-70k with low hours put the other 80-90k in the market and retire young......4 man canyon run for us fuel 220 bucks plus 100 bucks in bait, 50 in ice and 50 in food thats 105 bucks a man and thats over estimating for sure....15 minutes to clean the boat and the ability to trailer to where the bite is....I can't figure out why more people don't go this route....sure I can't fish in 7-10 foot seas but why on earth would I want to....

I go with Gooch on this one . I got 3 World Cats in my back yard right now (2 of them are wheatdogs ) You can,t beat them on fuel burn , ride ,safety( cause you got 2 of every thing fuel tanks ,electric systems, motors , 4 bilge pumps , hulls ...... ) and it still gets in a foot of water . Perfect boat for us poor men who like to hit the canyons cheep .

I went to a twin powered 36 CC from a 43 Downeast when family and work started to cut in on fishing. I used to do 20+ offshore trips a year and in 06 I did 3 or 4 I think. I found I was spending more time on maintenance than fishing with the big boat, and the 8 hour runs out were killing me. It also took 4 guys to fish the big boat right and I was having trouble gettin crew that coudl commit to the weather window.

Now fishing the CC I can be lines in in 2.5 hours at the edge, or as little as an hour to inshore BFT. It fishes well with 2-4 people and I find it nice runnign the boat form deck level so I can actually talk with the crew. Cleanup is easy and with the outboards maintainence is a snap compared to diesel. This lowering 'barrier to entry' allowed me to fish 10-12 offshore trips this year.

The only downside I see is having to bring the gear to/from the boat. This winter I am rigging up a small lawn trailer that will go in my garage with 3 marina carts with coolers, tackle bags and rod holders. Installing a 500lb ice maker in garage. Theory is I will hook up the trailer in the morning and drive 5 minutes to the marina and go. We will see how it works.

For 150k you could probably get a new 32' twin powered CC or something a bit larger used.

    6000 51.0 38.4 1.3

NOTE: The prop data is provided for comparision purposes only.

Remember that when they do the tests the motors aren't broken in yet and after 150 hrs the motors become more efficient.... Also throw on a set of Tommy Props and look out much better fuel burn.....with more load. I run this boat every weekend and always leave with a full tank and never have to put more than 70 gallons in and we run....

Oh I almost forgot, when I have more than 6 people down at my place on the weekends or when its too choppy in the bay to take my 18' edgewater I can easily load 8-10 people on the world cat and cruise right in to seacrets in 1 foot of water and party all day long.....that in my opinion sure beats a day of fishing in any express boast in 6-8' seas...
