Al, Herb, Wil Smith - who cares ?
Sonic, there is good fishing on all the islands, from El Hierro in the south right up to Graciosa in the north. If you're looking for blue marlin, they can be found regularly off La Gomera, the south points of Gran Canaria and Tenerife, and some at times will be off Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. I'm not sure if you're aware but there are strong NE winds during summer in the archipelago, and so most fishing is off the south and south-west points of the islands. If you can travel while there, it might pay to do so as the bite can move from island to island during the season. I'd suggest contacting Jason Pipe ( bocinegro@hotmail.com ) and see what he has to say once you tell him your plans. He'll recommend boats on the other islands that will suit your needs better than those that ply the sun-burnt tourist market. There's more than a few of those - you can spot them by the dried marlin tails hanging off the rail ![]() There are tunas and wahoos in the islands, and for those in the know, some very good (world record size) AJ's and other demersal species. Hope this helps. Last edited by Roddy Hays; 07-04-2009 at 05:45 AM. |

Legend,
Tell Talbot and Jason Doug from AGYG says hello. I was the broker that sold the Guthrie to Talbot. We closed end of April. It seems that it took two months to have the boat shipped from Ocean City, MD to La Gomera. Sounds like the boat made the trip successfully ! Doug Quote:
