Didn't think I'd get off that easy

Los Suenos with my father and 2 of our buddies. Booked through Costa Rica Dreams

Day 1 - Fished the Sweet Dreams. Tons of bait and freejumpers everywhere. We raised exactly zero Very frustrating. Wasn't the boat, as they went on to catch a bunch in the tourney. Just our turn in the barrell

Day 2 was inshore. Surf was pumping which made roosterfishing tough. Headed off to a rock mount for snappers. Turned out the bait was also not biting, but we managed a few live bonitas, most of which got chewed by triggerfish. Boated 1 nice yellowtail snapper and a bunch of reef fish. Missed a couple wahoos while making bait. Had Juanitas in Herradura cook the snapper for us, delicious

Day 3 - Well the heat was on to put some fish in the boat, but I knew we would find 'em. Heading offshore, 15 miles off and we throw a prop blade on our single engine Just barely in cell phone range, and 45 minutes later CRD had a backup boat pick us up and continue offshore (Thanks Ari!)

Went 3 for 5 on the sails, which was perfect because none of my crew had caught a pacific sail and they each got one. Then its my turn and the right one slides into the spread. Perfect bait and switch and it's game on! 45 minutes of blood, sweat and tears and shes alongside. Mates took me by surprise as you can see in the picture when they dragged the fish in the boat They were having more fun than we were

So the last day saved us, but regardless of the fish we had a great time, and CRD can be counted on to smooth out any bumps. Alot of the Jersey boys were in town, which accounted for some very late nights

Oh and the Rommell outfit was for the ATV tour up the mountain, highly recommended

nice looking place, have to put it on the "to do" list. just when you think it is a bust. there is really is a fishing god up there to save the day. good job doing it the hard way under intense pressure. that's why we fish. going from the lowest low to the highest high, or vise versa, it gets the adenaline flowing. gotta love a happy ending .
