Well hell... I got to go fishing today... Decided to do a shake down run and knock the dust off the ol girl.
Weird morning starting out with pretty thick fog. We don't get a lot of that here. I lit up and slid out of the dock. No issues. Finally got clear of the two bridges and out of the no wake zone... Issue
Starboard engine wouldn't give up more than 1200 rpm... I could see her surging and the code alarms started running by on the ddeec read out... I tried to get her to "catch" but it just wasn't gonna happen. Already to the inlet we decided to continue and fish as she ran fine at lower rpm.
Screen went red with bait and we dropped sabikis into clouds of sardines na cigar minnows. it took almost no time to fill the well. We slid out to the edge and it was wall to wall boats in the slick calm of the morn. The spirits were high despite a dead radio...
Not a report. Not a sniff in the fleet. As the fog lifted I could see why. The water was lifeless grey green crap...
We stuck to our guns for a long long day. Not only did fishing suck but I was distracted by worrying why the fuel wouldn't feed that motor. We just installed our water maker and it was likely that the guys crawling around in there knocked something loose or cracked a fuel line.
I looked and looked tracing from the engine back through the filters and finally all the way to the tank... Aha! There was the culprit. The water maker guys had crawled across and shut my fuel valve to that side almost all the way closed.
I was at least back focused now on the sucky fishing. We managed finally a snake king, two neeters, and a dinkacuda. Played til the rain started just before dark and now I'm watching a rain delayed and I guess over race at daytona...
