i gotcha, thats pretty awesome you guys get shots at those big ones. we dont see many over 400. can you guys tag them?any laws? i know you can get some free shark tags off the internet, it would def help conservation. and it must be nice to have a pile of yellows and sword to feast on.
Back er' down!!
Tim & Crew , Can't wait for more reports on these big Critterts!!!!!!. As far as the Tombo are concerned How long do they stay in the area? Are they caught on the Chunk ?
The Tonbos are A-holes...They make your Tuna crazy buddies put down light tackle rigs that get WORKED by small Swordy's...
I hate Tonbos...5 hours on a Swordy with a light tackle rig...F-the Albacores...My hamstrings still hurt from staring over the side trying to confirm we were fighting a Swordy...
Yeah they eat chunks, Sardines, whole Opelu, half Opelu, 2/5ths Opelu, Squid, whole, half & quarter...
Actually the Tonbo are awesomely big here and the world record gets caught 12 dozen times a year on hand line...On 20-30 it's a blast...JUST WATCH OUT FOR: Threshers, Swordy's, Big Ahi, Mako's and.....Hmmmmm Really big Tonbos...
Oh yeah we run for almost a dozen minutes to chase all of the above...Unless we go long ranging down the coast into calmer waters (less than 6 inches)...Sometimes that takes up to a half an hour....![]()
