Well i just spent week in cabo and have to agree with all who have visited, the place is just flat out beautiful. Straight 90's all week. But the wind was blowing offshore. I had set-up my charter several weeks in advance with Renegade Mike. Who by the way is one of the coolest charter captains i have ever met. We talked several times before we went out and had decided that the big tuna and maybe a shot at a marlin was our best bet. We picked up some cabollitos?? spelling?? and headed offshore. Now i have fished some nasty nasty in the NE canyons but 15-25 NW coming down the pipe out there was knarly!! seas were a very confused 6-8 with some 9's in the mix. SWEET!
Anyway we fished hard and mike found the porpoise we were looking for. Had a marlin come sniffing around but no shot. Put a gaffer mahi in the box and a 50lb yeller. Not the big marlin bite i was dreaming of but of well. Had a good time, Mike made sure the trip was safe and we put fish in the box. When we got back to port most boats were already clean and just flying mahi flags. I would most definetly charter Renegade mike next year, he is very knowledgeable and his crew was great..........Next year i will get my striped marlin Dammit!!
