Stop staring at my Avatar.
Thanks Guys...
We where live baiting on the "golden Gate" just north west of Cabo. depending on the boat it was a 40-60 minute run up along some of the most beautiful coast I have seen... Seals, Whales, Birds, fish & all kinds of life...
We get to the hump, drop a multi rig down into the bait.. Sardines or Mackerals. The mackeral worked the best, tough little buggers. Once we had some in the well, we hooked them in the noise and tossed them over to swim while we drifted.. The crew did a good job, But once they figured out I knew the deal they realy got into it.. we had deep rods, surface baits, etc..
when the wind dropped out on our second day, we sat over the bait balls and picked up one & dropped one. then we fished as if for sails in florida with Baley Hoo... Just put them back, big drop back loop in the riggers, and bumped into gear to cover the area... Never got to see the fish take a bait.
I would bring some Baloons with me next time, this way you could get them out away from the boat and still have some weight on to keep the mack down,,,
