Cabo San Lucas.
Well we are home from Cabo San Lucas and had a very interesting
adventure.
Hey lets all be realistic what ever could go wrong does go wrong but
nothing that could happen could take away from the Fact that
SportFishermen.com went to Cabo and covered this event.
When I was young I remember sitting around listening to my father and
friends speak about this event. I have always wanted to be apart of
this event and never in a million years ever thought I would be having
meals and hanging out with the Wayne and Trisha Bisbee.
First off I would like to thank the whole staff of the Bisbee’s Black
and Blue Tournament. They treated us with respect and helped us with
all there power when things came up.
We arrived in Cabo on the 22nd and got to the event area around 3pm. We
got a very warm welcome from the Bisbee family and then meet up with
Jason Jepson. Jason is the Pr guy who works with Team Bad Company and
Crow's Nest Yacht Company. Jason also was at the Catalina event and
helped us step by step with getting photos and interviews.
Day 2 we covered the check in and Capt. Meeting then went out for some
food at the Baja Cantina. Day 3 the fish came in like mad, that
written, I was also reminded that I was in Mexico, not the US. It is
always a great reminder to recognize the freedoms we enjoy verses what
can happen in 3rd world countries. Like many 3rd world countries, you
have to cover your bases two or three times to protect yourself. Many
people on the Bisbees staff where hassled as well as myself (the only
press person to be sequestered). You know you are doing great things
when the competition has to call in favors to slow you down. You,
being our valued members, also know that we will only continue to grow,
challenge and bring you the best tournament coverage and website in the
business.
On day 3 Murphy's law took over and all that went wrong did go wrong.
I do not want to get into all the details. But I am confident in
telling all of you that in the end everything worked out. Sure things
could have worked out better but we did our best, and even found that
when push comes to shove there are still honest men out there that will
go to the mat for the press protecting us and ensuring that we would be
able to complete our mission and give all of the SFC members the best
coverage possible.
I have the up most respect for the officials and people of Mexico and
hope that our coverage of the event shows a lot of you around the world
that Cabo San Lucas is a incredible destination and the Bisbee’s Black
and Blue is a no brainer to fish. Spend this next year getting a group
together and research charter boats in the area or hell move your boat
around just like Contender did as they walked home with over 80 grand
in winnings. This year a ton of boats won money and none were the guys
who a lot predicted would win. You are just looking for that one lucky
bit and that bite can be worth millions of dollars.
As I said above this event was incredible and the sights and food was
amazing. We attended a party at the TEN BROTHERS FISHING TEAMS HOME
witch was only about 14,000 square feet. This group of ten comes from
Chicago every year to take a shot at winning the black and blue.
All in all the Black and Blue was a amazing event. I would like to
throw a huge thank you to Capt Kobey Treadwell for putting 110 % effort
into this project and helping us bring you all the best of the best and
make you all feel as if you attended the event.
Check out the Bisbee’s website and bookmark this for the future.

FOOD, FOOD AND MORE FOOD ONE OF MY FAVORITE PAST TIMES!
Baja Cantina in Cabo San Lucas Mexico is off the hook!
Normally when I go away I love to go from one restaurant to another BUT this trip was different. The Baja Cantina was a sponsor of the event so we rolled over to the cantina the first night. The food was out of this world. So the next night we rolled back to the Baja Cantina dock side for another go round. Let me tell you something the food every night was out of this world. Every night of the trip we ended up going back and the specials were out of this world. During one of the days at the scale things got slow so Me and Jason Jepson rolled over to the Baja Cantina Beach Grill. Well let me tell you something the sushi was incredible and definitely the best I have ever had.
The pictures below will show you exactly what im speaking about. On your next trip to Cabo stop in and say hello to George. Ask for the special and you will not be disappointed.
