    Cabo charter help April/May

I am headed to Cabo the last week of April for a wedding. I am planning on fishing one day. Can anyone recommend a good charter?

Before posting I did search and it seems that RedRum got the most positive reviews.

Is this a good time of year to fish there for stripped marlin?

What size boat are you looking for? Lots of good options in Cabo. If you let me know size and price range I can point you in the direction of a good operation.

It is definitely my girlfriend and I. maybe a few others. Doesn't have to be a huge boat. 4 people at most 6. I am used to fishing on 27' CC so anything bigger is a treat. Since there will be others something in the low to mid 30's should work. Based on what I have looked up I would like to stay at 1000 or under unless you can persuade me otherwise. Thanks!

Erick is a personal friend of mine. Awesome captain and a personable gentleman. You will have a great time and be treated like a fisherman and not a tourist. His email is erikedc@hotmail.com If you need a phone number, I can provide that as well. The boat is a fully restored 32 foot Forrest Johnson.

Here's a couple of good options, fished with all of them and they'll take great care of you.

    Minerva's
Boats from 31' Bertram and up. $600 and up.

    Checkmate
    31' Bertram - $475

    Dream Weaver
    32' Blackfin - $650

    Pocho's
    Boats from a 23' to 35'. $250 - $850

If you need any other info on Cabo.... check out Cabo's Best online.

    Have a great trip!

    Sea Rich's recommendations x2...

Plus Pisces Fleet and Minerva's Fleet.

Checkmate is part of the Tailchaser Fleet and has a 35 Cabo and a 33 Blackfin. Great captains.

    Also Renegade Mike.

April is a fair month for striped marlin, but it can be "iffy" for them.

Remember, you get what you pay for!

You cannot beat Dream Weaver Sportfishing (dreamweaversportfishing.com) for a smaller to midsize boat. Their 32' blackfin has been completely refitted and the captain, Ramon, is an excellent fisherman who speaks perfect english.

If for some reason Dream Weaver doesn't work out, I would go with Renegade Mike. Although I've never fished with, or met him, I have only heard positive things about his operation and his recently updated 31' bertram.

Choose either of the two and you won't be disappointed.

Fished on a boat called the Dream Maker, American Owner and Local Captain. If the stripys are not around, try the live baiting red snappers , you will not be disappointed. I guess he is stillthere I have a number if you are interested.

As far as I know, Dream Maker no longer charters. According to Dale at Gricelda's, the owner just uses it for personal trips, no more public charters. It was a great boat though.
