I don't know for sure and am checking, but I hope the Dream Weaver Fleet is still chartering. They recently lost a big boat to a fire, but the Blackfin was still fishing, last I heard and knowing Tom, he'll have another big one to go along with his other two boats before long.

Ruben and Jaime, his great crew, simply cannot be beaten by any others that I know of down there. Plus, their tackle, rigging, etc. is all the very best. I have known those two since they were youngsters and not only are they among the cream of Cabo, they are fluent in English and are among the nicest people that you will ever meet!

Check out their website for info on what is going on with them. And I sure hope that they are still chartering, because they really set a high standard down there.

    Hey Fred,

Tom's still chartering the Blackfin.... the loss of the other boat, Extraction II, hasn't stopped his chartering. I too and sure he will be replacing the lost boat.. just not sure when.

Roger, Richard. Thank you for the heads up. That's what I thought. Tom takes good care of the boys and they fish with him a lot, but Tom doesn't fish every day, so cutting down on the charter trips would be a hard thing for two great guys like Ruben and Jaime. They are the type that were born to fish, which anyone who has ever fished with them knows.

The bigger of the three boats may be gone for now, but there will soon be a new one. Meantime, the crew, tackle, rigging and everything else on the Blackfin remains the best that there is. As I said, anyone who fishes with them will have a great trip.

Take care, Richard...and catch 'em up!

Tom has a 43 ft Cabo that he is chartering for the same rates as the 48 ocean. If you were hoping to fish on a bigger boat with Dream Weaver it can still happen. Like you guys said, it didn't take Tom long to figure something out. The 43 is a 2004 and should be up on the website shortly. I know all about the 43, it's my dad's boat, so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and opinions. After reviewing everything and looking at the websites etc. etc....

I booked with Dream Weaver Sportfishing. They have been fantastic with answering questions and setting up the trip. I will post a report and photos when I get back the first week of May.

According to Tom, The 43 Ft Cabo, Karma, will be on the website next week. We are fishing on it with Ramon in the Tuna Jackpot this year.

Team Karma, we look forward to fishing on your Dad's boat. Those Cabos are awesome machines!!

    Talking Great Choice!!!

You guys are going to have a blast! We fished with Ramon and Fernando over Christmas (3 days total). The bite slowed down a little bit while we were there, but these guys produced. Very nice, very professional. One of the best trips of my life.

Here is a link to our report on the New England Forum. There should be a link to our video of the trip as well. Have fun!
