    BTB mako rodeo "shark report"

We started off spending the day getting the new "UNDISPUTED" up and in the game!! and she is officially in the game. all i can say is she is BIG!

when we got to the captains meeting Fri night we had a few laughs and some good chit chat with some friend i have not seen in a while.. (this tournament is just for a great cause all around)

then it was time to go we left after the captains meeting with the whole crew Dan, beave, bling bling, and guesed aperance by craig..

we had a hour of daylight left so we unleashed all 750 hp for the last hour of light (man the weather man was wrong) so about 3 hrs later we roled into a spot we were going to call home for the next 24hrs.
as soon as we slowed to a stop the squid started to come, we had clean water and life, just what we wanted. time to PLAY! we had fish on all night sharkin at its finest. the spot we picked was the right one, blue shark after blue shark and then it happened... Mr. mako came a nokin.. right to the chum bag.. he was not large by any means @125lb to 135lbs not bad for the first of the year. so after a brief fight with some great areal in the dark and next to the boat we let here go..
then a live blue fish made its brief apperance to us... this procede to produce a realy nice dusky, this was great in itself since i have not seen on in some time..

next thing we know it is false day light . man did the night go fast! now we no we need to get it done. the next 10 hr made the night bite look slow. we proceded to catch more jumbo blue sharks a brown shark and another 2 makos (which also put on a air show for us as well. we realesed all fish except for one 72" @150 to 170lb fat mako.
since this was winner take all and my good friend art had a fat 82" in the boat we decided to end the day and go in barnaget instead on manasquan.(tried to save some time)
    tally for the shark marathon
    Blue sharks
    stopped counting at 30
    brown 1
    dusky 1
    Mako 3

not a bad start to the season

Hey Joe - great job. Missed you guys on the overnighter, but had a good time with Dave and the crew from Insufishent Funds. We caught loads of blue sharks and blue fish but didn't have any luck with Mr. Mako.

Mako Mania this weekend. I'll see you there.

Here's a shot of us trying to retrieve the hook back from a small blue shark...
