BroadBill Swordfish Landed Of Beach In NZ

This is for real and has just come through on our local Fishing Forum down here in NZ and is quite an incredible story not least for the fact that from Omaha beach it takes me just over 2 - 3 hours at 20knts to get to the area we would normally drift for these and to see one so close into land is quite incredible

Several years ago right after a hurricane, a guy caught a yellowfin on the beach somewhere down around Oak Island while surf fishing.

He took it to a pier to showoff and weigh and was promptly ticketed for not have a migratory species permit.

True story.
