    Brine squid ??

Anyone ever brine squid so that it would be a little tougher on off shore bottom fishing trips ?

Yes all the time. Soak in saltwater and brine mix over night. Makes them tough as nails. Stays on the hook much better! All the headboats do this to boston macks and squid wings

If you take the sqid and use a plastic clamp and clamp it to the side of a 5 gallon bucket then take your salt water wash down hose and get the water going in a swirl motion so it looks like a tornado in the bucket. Do this for 20 minutes and see how tough yout squid is then.
