After the weather settled down the fishing was on fire from the inlet out to the canyons. There were Blue Fish, Croakers and Stripers in the GE inlet and Weakies, Croakers and Flounder from the beaches out to the reefs. Squid, minnows and clams were the bait that worked along with the Gulp.
In the deep there were tuna landed from the Wilmington up to the Lindy and the 35 fath. Line on the way to the Toms. Out front the bait fish were thick and the troll produced a lot of nice size Blue Fish.
Dave Taylor fishing with Dave and Sue Burns on the “Terminator” weighed in a 95lb Blue Fin and released 10 others with Sue landing and releasing a Blue Fin that was 90 + lbs., they were chunking on the 35 fathom line on the way to the Toms. Bill Hass on the “Rose Lee” fishing behind Dave weighed in a 81# Blue Fin and let another go. There were reports of nice catches on the night chunk and the early troll from the Lindy South.
From out in front of Lucy to the GE and AC reef there were Flounder, Croakers, Weakfish and Blue Fish. On Saturday Rusty Cain weighed in 2 Flounder up to 4.25 lbs for the lead this month fishing with the Berkley Glup cut bait on the GE Reef and had some nice size Sea Bass to go with them. On Sunday Gaton on the “Sea E O” weighed in a 9.08 LB Blue Fish he caught at the GE Reef for the lead in that division. Don’t forget that our Season Long Tournament ends Oct.10th so there is still time.
Till next week,
Mike
