break on through to the otherside....

a main title on the cover of sportfishing magazine about the otherside of the gulf stream..

i know it is really getting popular in the past 10+ years but i am wondering if it is really all it is cracked up to be?!

i know that a lot of the commercial boats up here in the ne will run pretty far but not quite to the other side. and i know they do pretty well..

anyone try it south of nj and north of florida or is it just a floridian thing!?

i might be totally off my rocker with this statement - but didnt the boys at big rock this past year (who won) pick up and go out past the gulf stream - i thought i heard that....

We used to make the run - occasionally out of charleston - 2007 was a year of desperation....you try your luck - if you do it and catch nothin you cant complain - you have to commit 100% - but sometimes you get rewarded with a catch of a life time.......ive heard

Its just like this side fishing a temp break in the deep but less reports and no turning back! We have fished it a couple of times out of OI and done good, considering it sucked on or side!

I know one particular commercial guy who had Giants in 1600f outside of the Lindenkohl/Tom's last july. I believe thats smack dab in the middle of the stream. Prob about a 120-130 mile run.

YEAH THAT IS A LONG RUN..

i am hoping waterman see this post.. i know or atleast i believe he has been there before..

but the streamis very wide and we dont even fish it in the ne here.

florida guys are basically running to the edge of the bahamian waters and fishing around there clocking around 300-400 mile in a trip..

we are talking 400 miles to just run not to mention trolling!!
