    braid question

    whats the best type of braid available, and also the best bang for your buck...i was going to buy power pro, but recently have seen some negative reviews on it, so any help is greatly appreciated

    Go with the jerry brown hollowcore. Higher thread count so its smoother and stronger, plus its hollow so splicing is a breeze.

    Without knowing more, it would be hard to make a recommendation. JB is very popular, Diamond Braid is becoming more popular, Power Pro Hollow Ace is also something you might want to consider.

    Or you might be more interested in a solid braid.

    Whats your setup consist of?

    Depends on the reel its going on and its intended use .. for bottom fishing, solid braid is the better route, but for offshore needs, hollow core is the only way to fly . In either case, Jerry Brown makes a very good product. Berkley also makes a very reliable braid

    My set up is a shimano tiagra 20A on a right now davis big game all rollered rod, i mainly do kingfishing off boats and piers, however i do make some trips further out for tuna, etc
