    Braid Life

    Looking for some feedback on the life of braid once spooled and fished.

    I have some reels with 4-5 year old power pro on'em. Other than the colors fading, I have not noticed any line weakening. I use mostly PE line now (Daiwa saltiga) and the oldest I have spooled is a little over 2 years old and working fine.

    washing

    I believe washing the braid every other trip or so is the one key factor that affects the life of your braid....i have reels that i have not washed for over a hear and a half with 50lb braid and the line is at half its breaking strength right now. I also think the brand is highly important and i know alot of people might disagree but i think power pro is not a good choice what so ever (many bad experiences) and am moving to all hollowcore spectra (jerry brown, diamond)....remember you HAVE TO TAKE CARE of you're braid if you want it to last...
