Does anyone know any sites that post boat reviews. We are looking at picking up a 32' Century. Does anyone have feedback on this boat?
Any and all replies welcome.

Thanks for the info Mary! What kinda of center console would you recommend? It is going to be used as a second boat in Nassau for some offshore livebaiting and some bottom fishing. If you ever travel to the Bahamas, give a shout www.bigfishchartersinc.com
I would recommend
www.boatingmag.com
www.marlinmag.com
or www.sportfishingmag.com
I myself have never been on the century...
there are a ton of quality boats in that size class though including jupiter, regulator, contender, blackfin (they're back), albury brothers, etc etc etc....
It's really all about the price point....and if you want bang for the buck or quality...
Good Luck,
Jon
Don't bother with magazine reviews. Did you ever see one say "This boat's a P.O.S."? All they'll do is complain about the cupholders.

He may not have reviewed the particular boat you're looking at, but you can learn enough there to do your own review.
Although it's not really aimed at CC's you might benefit from his book "Mid Size Power Boats". It's a little spendy, but by the time you finish reading it you won't need to hire a surveyor. Unless your insurance company wants one.
P.S. After re-reading: Sorry WhiteMarlin, I wasn't trying to bash your reply. You have a legitimate answer to Anxiety Attack's question. I was only trying to suggest that the reviews are usually puff-pieces tied to advertising and are not always an unbiased resource for someone who is shopping. Didn't mean to step on any toes.

IE8 says this may be a phishing site....Well, DUH!!!!!!... Stupid jerks can't even spell fishing right.
Just to let you know I WRITE for the fore-mentioned publications....
I am an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR and have nothing to do with advertising or the such....I don't get paid to write one way or the other!
BOAT TESTS are one of my specialties....
If you've read any of my reviews you will clearly see that I point out the NEGATIVES as well as the positives...simply saying something is shitty or stupid isn't good journalism...if you read a review closely you will see that we often say more negative things than positive! HONESTLY...there are some GREAT boats out there!!! I am amazed at what the manufacturers are coming out with!!!......The key is that every boat is built for a certain purpose or market....and with that said you can't buy a boat designed for one thing and expect it to excel at another....
Personally I have never tested a POS....probably because I wouldn't step on it in the first place...I have tested some bang for the buck boats....and I point them out as being that! A great buy for the owner that wants a boat but can't afford a custom built state of the art ride!
Really....boating and fishing are great sports but not everyone will want to re-mortgage their house in order to buy a boat they may only be able to use twice a year...
So cut those magazines some slack....the journalists aren't out there to fluff off and fill their pockets with advertisers money...cause they don't get a DIME!
They are there to find the essence and principle behind a boat and portray it to the readers in an entertaining and fulfilling piece!
Avenger....not trying to step on your toes either...just wanted to give those magazines a little more deserved credit!
PS....I fish for a LIVING as a professional mate too...and if a boat doesn't have a place for me to put my frosty beverage...I'm going to be damned upset!
That's fair. I'll admit that since I'm not boat shopping I don't read all of the reviews. But I do see a few (maybe in other magazines) that are written by someone on the staff and they just think everything is wonderful. So I'm sorry if my viewpoint was a little harsh.
Thanks for the insight WhiteMarlin, I'll look for your reviews. If Anxiety Attack vets his sources well then he should get some good information.

I will definatly keep you in mind I have a flight voucher to burn since I didn't make it to Florida last week and I think spirit flys in there...
There is a boat out there for everyone, it all depends on your budget and what your likes are, and how long you intend on keeping it for. Resale value is a crutical factor that you should look at if you plan on starting off small and upgrading.
Me I am spoiled with the Contender's and love everything about them.
I love the center consoles the best with a full 360 degrees of fishabiltiy, not much of a need for a walk around or an express these days unless you need it for overnighters or fishing with the kids.
If you have an array of boats you are looking at let me know, I can tell you my experience and my likes and dis-likes about them.
I have a few opinions on the century's but its little stuff that most would never realize. As with any boat it floats and gets you on the water fishing with a little different ride attitude.
I believe that Century builds a great boat but there are some little things that urk me as with most boats. Some boats have issues with placement on things, quality of hardware installed, or how things are in the way or just a bad idea.
I look at everything on the boats and if they were to spend a couple more bucks on something they would have something really great but they try to keep costs down.
Hope this helps...
