Hit the inlet dark and early, with 68 miles to run. We where greeted to slick calm seas and beautiful weather! Once we got there, we where all peeling off layers. The troll was slow, so decided to make one quick drop on the awesome looking bottom. First drop, I hooked up with this guy!

I was pumped up, because you can’t beat catching tuna on a jig! Continued to Jig the area with more success, but blue was the only color they where hitting, and I had the only blue jig on the boat. ;-)

Also jigged up some of the biggest sharks I’ve seen in a long time, and the usual Aj’s.

Hit them good for awhile, and after we had 4 in the box we put out the wahoo spread again because a boat hooked up with a double wahoo header just 200 yards from us. Within 5 minutes of getting the spread out we had a nice hit, the fish must have peeled 20 yards of line off, than disappeared. We reeled in a bent hook…Continued to troll with no action after this.

So we went back to the jigging. Ran into more trash fish and falsies. So with only a little bite of time left we kept the falsies and went to go do what we do best!

Ran about 10 miles in to some deep-water grouper holes. We found them ;-)

3 nice wahoo than showed up under the boat, so we messed with them for a solid 10 minutes. They where determined not to eat, and it was within a few minutes of that, that a tiger shark longer than the width of the boat showed up. He was amazing to watch, and probably somewhere around 500 pounds, and 12 feet long.

We also caught a bunch of trigger, grunts, pinkies, and big b-liners we had to release :-/

Decided to pack up and hit the throttles home. Slick seas made it easy to run in at 55 mph, with more throttle left to give. I feel asleep in the beanbag, and I am pretty sure it was sore arms for everyone on the boat! All in all, an awesome day with constant action for everyone on the boat. Lots of fun, and that’s what it’s all about! ☺

mmmmmm tuna! ;-)
