    Bluefins getting bigger

Congratulations Jerry Elliot on the "Sudden Impact" out of A.B. Yesterday Jerry got cut off while fighting a bluefin, but today he was redeemed with a 96 inch bluefin. Once again, Congratulation Jerry, hope you get top dollar!

Wow sounds like a nice fish. Any pics of it, or how much it sold for assuming he sold it?

Providing that the fish has high fat content, he should get good money for it. For some reason the payout for the tunas has been very high this season. The prices that I have heard so far this year for the Morehead City area has been from $15.35 to $24.00 per pound. That is unusually high for the first fish of the season since they traditionally don't have very high fat content. I guess that there are just not any fish on the Japanese market now.

Congrats on a great fish !!! I was trolling side by side with Sudden Impact when he got bit around 6:30 am. We stayed tight to those numbers all morning and were rewarded with a bite around 9:30. Unfortunately, the fish won this battle, but the signs are encouraging ... I personally know of at least 4 keepers and 2 shorts today as well as a few lost fish and missed bites ...

We were right there with a bite at 6:30 also, it appeared to be a big fish that took a lot of line in a hurry just did not stay tight. Congrats Sudden Impact.
