Sorry that you lost your fish Mark. Hopefully after this cold front moves out the fish will have had a few days to regroup and a few more move in and may be you will be the one with the big fish in the deck!

Nice job guys. How far south have they come?

I am not looking for exact numbers, just south!

Good to hear that you will be down soon Capt. John. Hopefully the weather will break for you soon and not be too bad for travel. The one good thing about the snow and colder weather up in your neck of the woods , is that it will be pushing more bait and fish our way! Stop by when you get into town. You will probably have to re-introduce your-self to me. I am fairly good with faces, but I seem to have advanced CRS lately. Might have to do with things from the past, not sure! Because I CRS!

I have heard of sightings as far south as the Wilmington and Southport area, but I don't think there have been any landings in that area.

Capt Mark worked on my boat the HOOKED UP II last winter and and my older boat built at Harker's Island the year before. I talked to Capt. Mark earlier this evening on his cell and I am still thinking about the big bluefin that broke the leader today. We ran a striper charter yesterday with 25 knt winds and air temps in middle 30's when we got back to the dock. The fresh water froze on our boat when we were doing the wash down and spread rock salt all around the dock to keep our footing. I am counting the days before we make it down to MHC. You will recognize me as I have been coming down since 1999 and we have talked at your shop many times in the past years. Maybe we will see some stripers show up around the holidays like a few years ago with the colder weather up here. GBT and stripers on the same trip makes for a great day of fishing.

I was also in that area and passed near those guys when they had that fish on. There did seem to be a bit of activity for a while this morning. Heard a few break-offs and a tackle failure. I saw Canyon Runner over working that area. No bites for me.. Hopefully the blow will get'em going... Good Luck and catch'em up. Looks like Tuesday or Wendsday before it settles down.

I had one Saturday crush one of Joe's Blue and Pink ones. But like Mark the fish one this one. Hopefully this blow will shake things up. We'll be back at it ASAP. Don't miss that cold up North.
