Bluefin Tuna Rods?
I'm going to be building some 130# rods for Bluefin and was going to put roller tips on them but thought since we will be fishing from a center console and fighting the fish from the rod holders would it not make more since to put swivel tips on them?

Sit down Shut up And fish
If you are going to fish out of a center console I would recommend you installing Lee swivel rod holders instead of putting the swivel rod tips on your rods. The swivel holders follow the fish no matter which direction it goes. We use swivel rod tips when we build planner rods. They help keep the line straight toward the pull of the planner, but we use them in a stationary rod holder usually. The only disadvantage in the swivel rod tips is their silicone carbide inserts in the swivel part of the rod tip. They work great with braided lines, but can chip very easily with any sharp hit such as dropping a rod on the deck. The Swivel rod tips are very expensive from $80 to $95 retail. The replacement swivel tips can be purchased for as little as $25.

Sit down Shut up And fish
It has been a long and busy season for my charters as well as my shop and tackle manufacturing business. My home computer blew up early this year and I have just gotten it replaced. Good to be back!

Thanks Joe. I forgot about using the swivel bases, that's the way to go.
